Apple Lettuce Wraps


This marvelous appetizer looks beautiful on any colored platter, and the taste will have everyone casting their eyes up to the appetizer heavens with gratitude. This recipe is perfect for anyone who wants a little sweet, spicy sass and the rich, nutty, and bold taste of Parmesan cheese. These make a beautiful addition to a fall tablescape.


  • 1 NY RubyFrost apple, diced into medium size cubes
  • 1 yellow or orange bell pepper, diced
  • 5 tbsp sweet and spicy chutney
  • 5 leaves of butter or Boston lettuce
  • 1-1/2 tbsp of cocoa nibs
  • 2 tbsp of shredded Parmesan cheese


  1. Arrange lettuce leaves on a plate.
  2. Combine diced apple and pepper in a small bowl and divide the mixture into 5 smaller portions. Spoon about one tablespoon of chutney into the center of each lettuce leaf.
  3. Put a generous portion of the diced apple and pepper mixture on top of the chutney in each lettuce leaf.
  4. Sprinkle about one teaspoon of cocoa nibs, followed by a teaspoon of grated Parmesan cheese on top of each leaf.
